Largest Deployment of Digital "TripCaps" in North America

Melbourne, FL, November 19, 2002 - AirNet Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: ANCC), the technology leader in software defined base station products for wireless communications, today announced that it has received approximately $1M in expansion purchase orders for the deployment of AdaptaCell® broadband, software-defined base stations, several Triple Capacity Digital AirSite® Backhaul Free™ base stations and associated equipment. Sprocket PCS is the wireless service marketed by MBO Communications in Oklahoma. Most of this order is expected to ship later this year. The Company also announced that this expansion order with Sprocket marked a milestone as the largest deployment of the digital TripCap product since it was generally released for purchase.

The Triple Capacity Digital AirSite Backhaul Free base station provides three times the capacity of the Digital AirSite base station. In addition, the digital "TripCap" is lighter and easier to install than previous generations, and has improved operation and maintenance capabilities. The TripCap is available configured directly from the factory, or can be installed as a simple upgrade to the Digital AirSite allowing operators to deploy capacity where it is needed and when it is needed, providing operators the flexibility to optimally configure their networks.

"Our business has really grown since we became an AirNet customer back in 1998," said David Miller, President of MBO Wireless. "In order to succeed in today's market, entrepreneurial operators such as Sprocket need a competitive advantage to distinguish themselves from other service providers. AirNet's digital TripCap solution provides Sprocket with robust coverage in our markets while simultaneously reducing both our capital and operating expenses."

"Every time an existing customer comes back to the well to purchase their expansion requirements from AirNet, it truly gives me great pride to know that we have once again succeeded in obtaining our ultimate goal of customer satisfaction," said Glenn Ehley, president and CEO of AirNet.
