AirNet SuperCapacity Base Station Wins Prestigious GSM Award

Adaptive Array Technology Deployed at MBO Wireless and in Large Operator Field Trial Recognized as Best Radio Access Product for 2006 in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain, February 16, 2006 - AirNet Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: ANCC), the technology leader in software defined base station products for wireless communications, today announced that its SuperCapacity™, adaptive array base station has been recognized by the GSM Association as the Best Radio Access Product for 2006 at the 3GSM World Congress & Exhibition in Barcelona. Nominated by MBO Wireless where it has been commercially deployed in Oklahoma since September 2004, this recognition as the Best Radio Access Product for 2006 marks the second time that the GSM Association has given one of their prestigious World awards to an AirNet Communications product. In 1998, AirNet's AdaptaCell®, broadband, SDR base station and AirSite® Backhaul Free™ base station were recognized as Best Technical Innovation.   The same SuperCapacity, adaptive array base station to win the Best Radio Product is also currently being evaluated in an ongoing field trial by an undisclosed, tier 1 large operator in a dense urban, major metropolitan market.
