AirNet's Customers Continue Their Expansions

MELBOURNE, Fla. --AirNet Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:ANCC) today announced that growth and expansion orders continue. Recent orders totaling $1.5M have been received from existing customers, including AirLink PCS and Wireless 2000, who see demand growing and remain convinced that AirNet's GSM technology is the best way to support demand for wireless voice and high-speed data services quickly and economically.

Bob Fisher, President of AirLink PCS, said, "Our marketing programs continue to deliver results, and that means demand for capacity is growing. Our recent orders for the Triple Capacity AirSite® Backhaul Free™ Base Stations give us that capacity and still provides the cost advantage of avoiding recurring T1 backhaul charges." Lee Hamilton, AirNet's CEO, added, "Our technology migration strategy allows carriers to start by supporting a few subscribers very economically and then scaling up to our high capacity solutions."

Tommy Ward, President of Wireless 2000, commented on a different mode of growth saying, "AirNet's backhaul free base stations allow us to serve areas that simply could not be supported economically with any other system allowing us to dramatically expand the area we can serve. This approach adds a dimension to our business plan that gives us a strong competitive advantage that we're successfully developing."

Glenn Ehley, AirNet's Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing, stated, "We receive a lot of satisfaction from our customers" success and take great pride in their confidence in us exhibited by the repeat orders." AirNet Communications Corporation's award winning wireless base station products, based on over 60 patents either issued or filed, provide a cost effective, future proof solution for wireless operators as they deploy and expand their networks. AirNet's proprietary broadband, software-defined AdaptaCell™ base station provides a high capacity base station with a software upgrade path to the wireless Internet allowing for cost effective coverage.

The AdaptaCell's proprietary technology means no more time consuming and expensive hardware upgrades - the wireless Internet is only a software upgrade away. And, with software control, AirNet lets service providers support multiple protocols simultaneously avoiding costly overlays. The AirSite's award winning architecture eliminates the need for a physical backhaul link, thus reducing operating costs. And, AirNet won the prestigious GSM World Award for technical innovation for AdaptaCell's evolution to the wireless Internet, and for AirSite's revolutionary wireless backhaul capability. AirNet is a wireless base station technology leader and is wireless Internet ready. AirNet can be contacted in the US at 321-984-1990 or visit us at
